Project Overview

A mobile-first hostel management system engineered for the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Sonepat (IIIT Sonepat). Built to replace paper-based gate passes, physical roll calls, and manual complaint ledgers, the platform unifies students, parents, security guards, wardens, and administrators into a cohesive, secure institutional workflow.

Digital QR PassesTwo-tier (Parent → Warden) approved gate passes generating encrypted, time-expiring dynamic QR codes verified in sub-seconds by guards.
Smart GPS AttendanceGeofenced attendance verification combining device GPS with evening time-windows (7 PM - 10 PM IST) to prevent proxy roll calls.
Role-Based WorkflowsGranular 5-role architecture (Student, Parent, Guard, Warden, Admin) with dedicated interfaces and centralized parent-student linking.
Redis High-Read CachingIn-memory Redis layer caching weekly mess menus and institutional notices to eliminate database contention during peak student hours.
Emergency SOS BroadcastReal-time location-tagged distress beacon instantly alerting campus wardens and emergency contacts during critical incidents.
